Jilted Gory-Glory [Today's News Poem, August 16, 2010]

Jilted Gory-Glory [Today's News Poem, August 16, 2010]

Streets aren't so promising,
Promising shoves, shoulders;
Shouldering steep shovel-
Fuls: shit is everywhere.

Where feces falls, so too
Two dolls. They're raggedy
Rag people embracing.
Sing 'Gory-Glory' and

Guard sleep while maniacs—
Mainly in dark alleys—
Ally themselves; sharing
Rare purpose. Absolution

Shuns fellow lunatics.
Loons, Luna, suicide:
Sides of a shadowy
Dowry for idiots.

“Derek Cox, a friend of victim Andrew Therrien, told KABC-TV in Los Angeles that Therrien, 22, pushed children out of the way as the truck barreled toward them. He was killed in the accident.”

I thought breaking 'absolution' would be too ugly to be acceptable. So I broke the meter? Forgive me. I'm cursed a while longer now.
