The Career of a Savior [Today's News Poem, January 17, 2011]

The Career of a Savior [Today's News Poem, January 17, 2011]

I poked at my self with a needle a while.
Exchanging the needle for scissors,
I trimmed off the landscapes—some flowers, a hedge.
Spade for the scissor; new lamps for old.
I dug for a treasure, or China at least
And slept in my trench, dodging the shells.
The counter-barrage was exhausted. I rose
Out of the dirt like a zombie god
And traded my spade for a mansion with servants.

"On Saturday, church spokeswoman Shirley Phelps-Roper is expected to get 30 minutes of air time on a Phoenix talk show hosted by Steve Sanchez. And on Monday, the nationally syndicated Mike Gallagher show will give an hour to Ms. Phelps-Roper. “One hour of radio time on my radio show is quite insignificant compared to [what] the grieving families and the mourning families have to go through,” says Mr. Gallagher, a conservative political commentator."

THE leading man of dreams is officially of zombie races.
when you look at their ROTTING faces
don't you guys get a warm glow from THE Traces
of human nature Rotting in those Aces?
WHAT??!!! you guys prefer extra hot maces
to bash their ROTTING heads,
over seeing them sing on TV while you lie in your comfy bed
changing the channels of dread??!!!

Will You Walk Again? [Today's News Poem, October 31, 2010]

Will You Walk Again? [Today's News Poem, October 31, 2010]

True, there are many who think of the aftermath;
Weeping, yet filled with a sense of adventure,
Bold curiosity—that sort of thinking.

I've long considered death by disaster:
The bullets, explosions—friends who've gone mad—
And never thought that goodness could survive

Hunger or loneliness; much less the panic.
Everything happens—must happen—and moments
Simply are judgments confirming the worthy

And worthlessness, based off one's actions
With graves to assort us, by faction.

"The last of the Kennedy old guard, Sorensen was a tireless defender of his legacy. Never, privately or publicly in the years since, did he take credit for the words or actions that made the 35th President an icon of the office."

"The relationship between the atomic bomb and postwar popular culture is as intimate as it is complex. It stretches right back to the almost contemporaneous invention of the teenager, in the winter of 1944, as the new model of youth: this product-hungry, pleasure-seeking individual was the perfect person to inhabit the new psychology of a world that could be blown up at any moment."

Gard Your Hart From the Clones [Twitter Found Poem May 15, 2010]
Tweets+Edits=#twitterfoundpoem

finding You on a subway
with all these creepers on THE train
You asked "Why is he wearing such silly hats?"
I said "with all these Clones
with all these lil kids that fall out in the middle of the street,
with needy people who always crying
I am sick of Being jealous.”

I speak of BELiEViNG THE UNBELiEVABLE.
I speak of Helen and Theseus!!!
We French kissed on a subway train.
You tore my clothes right off.

Craziness is like heaven.
You tore my my brain right off.
You left my hart in the middle of the street.
and said You killed 108 ppl.
You said I have to go crazy.
