The Perennial Meaning [Today's News Poem, November 23, 2010]

The Perennial Meaning [Today's News Poem, November 23, 2010]

Goodnight my drowsiness;
Seal off the aperture,
End my awareness:
A little death is all
I ask, but not too much—
An incomplete goodbye.
Victory's wavelength will
Crest and invert and it
Never repeats itself,
Refuses the rhythm,
Recycles the pattern,
Dies, revives back again.

"...the North fired dozens of shells at a South Korean island, killing two of the South’s soldiers... The new clash came just days after an American nuclear scientist who visited North Korea earlier this month said he had been shown a vast new facility built secretly and rapidly to enrich uranium."

everynight when i put my eldest to bed...he always gives me a year and i have to tell him an event that happened then...tonight he said 1950 and the first thing i thought of was the original korean war...and then i happened to tell him about what happened over the last couple of days...i digress....

this was a strong write and very well put together on a subject that could be more powerful than perhaps we are giving it credit for....cheers for the continued support...pete

Dude this is some kick-ass poetry! I love the enjambment and the meter is just perfect. Everything about this piece is tight. Excellent!
