Give Me Judgment Day! [All 3 Parts of Today's News Poem by Khakjaan Wessington, May 25, 2012]

I. The Vaillancourt Fountain

Urbane fountain: tapeworms vomit water
Filled with wormy eggs that hitch a ride
In seagull beaks and birdy droppings.

Grip your lover's hand, the earth is shaking.
You think emotions move the earth?
Right! Your self-love cries its glassy tears

That shred your limbs and blood together.
You love so much, the earth is quaking,
Disbelieving two could self-adore so much.

You hitched obsession where city gutters
Ooze with life. You crawled inside the towers,
Made your lust, beignets and flushed

The melodies of appetite away to swim
Back to bay—beyond—to hatch amidst
The Great Pacific Garbage Patch.

II. Judgment

I, Glasses, do not
Die—I glass until
Eye sees the riches
Glitter, trip, then fall
As lightness falls too.
Blindness comes and knows
Itself, the pigeons—
No, the derelicts
Of ship and human
Know their other selves:
Drops of fucked up glass
Returned to furnace
To capsize, crack-up,
Crack cocaine and clear
The murky currents
Under the water—
Aware at last of
What drips from sorrow.
I bleed stigmata,
Bleed my tears of glass—
Weeping clarity,
Shrapnel and outlast
My diamond Babel.

III. Ocean Beach Salutes

Undercut by undertow:
Dune attrits the refuse.
Take another foot away,
Bury me at sea.
Fetch another dog's bone,
Cast another cat's paw;
Swallow all the golden carp
Swimming in the Park.

When you drive away from me and watch my windmills wave you off,
Wave your parents waiving guilt;
Know I'm waving too, and fro, as flotsam follows you
And adds the former parts of you to me.
We bark and meow and chirp with wooden planks and plastic bags of stubbed out butts,
Gurgling our frisky song you loved so much;
But you've moved away from us, move so fast, you're driving us away when all we do is wave
And you won't see, because the water's in your eyes,
Exactly like the time you dove your bath and let out bubbles,
Rising to breath and mother and towels of fur.

“Wang Jianlin, a rags-to-riches tycoon, is taking over AMC Entertainment, North America’s second-largest movie theater chain behind Regal Entertainment. And he is promising to integrate it into a new, made in China, global brand called the Wanda Group... “He always has a vision,” Mr. Wang, no relation, said. “When everybody was doing housing property, he jumped out to focus on commercial property. When everybody was chasing commercial property, he was eyeing culture and tourism — the industries that the government is stressing and cultivating.””
